I am inspired by how natural materials react inside the kiln to form a glaze, and the fascinating chemistry behind the formation of crystals. I aim to bring the beauty of chemistry to the everyday. My work is thrown on the wheel, using a smooth white stoneware clay body able to withstand thermal shock, microwave, dishwasher and food safe. It is fired to 1,260 degrees using only glazes that I formulate, out of raw materials and using natural colouring oxides.
