Tessa Spanton

Grove Park 121 Mill Ln, Carshalton SM5 2AN

Open 22nd/23rd June

I paint landscapes in a variety of media. Sketching and painting outdoors are important to me because of the changing light, scents, sounds and the sense of place. I also paint flowers on silk, sometimes using flowers I have grown myself. A common thread running through my work is an interest in the patterns within the composition as well as a love of colour. I teach watercolour and silk painting and write regularly for Leisure Painter magazine and find both to be a two-way process in relation to my own painting. I am an elected member of the Society of Women Artists showing work at the Mall Galleries and with the Society of Botanical Artists.
